Nikon D7000
I took some test photos using the D7000 There is no need to go on and on about the D7000 there are hundreds of reviews already. My experience was very positive. Good :) I enjoyed the small light weight,(compared to d700 d3s) I love having two sd card slots, this feature is very useful. Dials are well placed and easy to get to. Bad :( the focus point dial is on the left side of the camera next to the lens, you have to push in a small button and turn the control dial on the right front of the camera. Very hard to use if you have large fingers or thumbs. It's not a matter of getting used to it, on the contrary it's hard to push in. Thus slowing down the process of changing the focus points in your view finder. This is the only negative using the D7000. Now for the real meat and potatoes image IQ, I'll let you be the judge here are some image samples, I used a nikon 28-300 vr .

Nikon CoolPix P7000
My previous post I commented on the high noise levels in ISO of 100-400. This is one of those photos I used lightroom to reduce the noise level but by doing so it created a softer image, the details are not as sharp. The camera mode was set to Macro. As you can see the image is not all that bad and usable. The P7000 was on the slow side focusing but these are not action photos, so patience prevails.

Nikon CoolPix P7000
I was not very pleased with the photo quality produced from this camera. I shot several photos at various settings, ranging from Manual to Auto modes. In each case the Noise levels from ISO 100 up to 400 were not acceptable. I was able to manage some of the noise in Lightroom. I realize this is not a pro level camera, none the less I was expecting better results even from a Point and Shot system. This camera has a lot of nice features and options, but unfortunately image quality isn't one of them. Don't get me wrong for some users this may be a very nice camera . Just not for me. I was looking for some quality in a small camera when I did not want to lug around my heavier equipment. I'm excited to see the new Fuji Finepix HS20EXR http://bit.ly/hEtXtG. I hope the quality is what they claim!
